Apple's market capitalization briefly surpassed $5 trillion on Tuesday for the first time, making it only the second company in history to reach the milestone, after chipmaker Nvidia.
At a session high of $342.89 per share, Apple's market value stood at $5.036 trillion. The stock later pared gains to trade around $337.7, up 0.2%, valuing the company at roughly $4.96 trillion.
Back on top
The iPhone maker reclaimed its position as the world's most valuable company earlier this month, overtaking Nvidia, which had held the top spot since June 2025 and was the first company ever to breach the $5 trillion threshold.
A different playbook
Apple's rally this year has been driven as much by strong demand for its products as by its decision to largely sit out the AI infrastructure spending race that is weighing on cash flows at rival Big Tech companies — a contrast that investors have increasingly rewarded.
